Faraj Abbo has been contemporary with Iraqi art through its different phases, starting with the pre-pioneers period of the 1940s, prior to the 1958 revolution.
He used a number of methods and techniques in his art. His main Concern was to interpret the Iraqi reality and life through his work and he was well known for his remarkable artistic style that can be called "Islamic abstraction" he was also influenced by the classic, abstract and impressionist styles.
Faraj Aboo searched the realm of Arabic and Islamic art and described its elements in his work, which also characterized the ethics of the Iraqi environment.
